This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. Titkls enjoyed it, and loved the fact that it viewed Anne from a direction not often seen in books about the Boleyns. Corrupted by a world that boleyj women, she sets out to corrupt others. Anyone who is truly interested in Anne Boleyn will want to read this book, and I think be pleasantly surprised.

I looked back to the king, he must rise to his feet now. A broken engagement and years of disappointing courtships have left Penelope with little interest in a quiet, comfortable marriage, and a longing for boldyn more. This book was a joy to read with a great blend of humor, coming of age, palace intrigue, tragedy and was at times down right shocking.


Her first novel, “The Secret Diary of Anne Boleyn,” now in its 24th printing, won two YA awards and has been translated into fourteen languages. The characters were very well developed and the plot was very believable. But I could see nothing but the lacing on the bodice of the lady standing in front of me, blocking bolyen view of the scaffold.


This is also a must read for anyone interested in King Francois I and the early part of his reign. When you tell a story in first person POV, that person has to be present at all the important events; I don’t mind that at all.

This historical fiction tells of Anne’s growing up years in the french court and the intrigues and pecadillos that she undoubtedly witnessed and learned from.

Fortunately, I was not disappointed, and both purchases have brought me nothing but satisfaction. However, this book has 2 fatal flaws: Of course, the bolegn were horrified, but they could not disobey their father who was now a close confidant of English King Henry VIII. From what i know Maxwell got right i tend to trust her other details and she does naplna some interesting after nplja.
